Who We Are

We are parents who wanted our kids to have a sports home. So we built one.

We are raising families in the Flour Bluff/Padre Island, TX, community, and our kids love playing sports together. When we realized our friends were traveling all over the city to take their kids to soccer practice and games, we thought, why not start a league in our neighborhood? So, we began building a community for our young Hornets to learn and enjoy sports together.

We are a non-profit organization that aims to teach kids—through sports—the tools to be successful in life. We believe playing sports instills confidence and helps kids learn respect, leadership, dedication, integrity, resilience and the ability to work effectively in a team. These are the fundamental skills they’ll need to be great future leaders and citizens.

Our Mission

The mission of the Hornets Youth Sports League is to provide a safe, fun, and competitive environment where young athletes can develop their skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and character through participation in organized sports programs. We strive to create a positive and inclusive culture that promotes physical activity, healthy habits, and lifelong learning, while fostering a sense of community and civic responsibility. Our goal is to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders and champions, both on and off the field, by instilling core values such as respect, integrity, perseverance, and excellence.
